Blind Faith.

The fear of what others think
It’s a consuming force
Opinions and judgements
Stalking our every movement

The fear of eccentricity
Being yourself has become a chore
Hiding behind the mask of society
Never really squeezing into the mold

The fear of failing
Being so caught up in what ifs
Never doing what our hearts say
Regretting the moment once it’s passed

The fear of the jump
Looking so far ahead never really getting a chance to breathe
Encapsulated, closed in by our own thoughts
Never grabbing the opportunity in front of us

The fear of missing out
Living through a screen
Chasing the fleeting moment
Grabbing it as it disintegrates into the past

The fear of yourself
Never thinking you’re good enough
Caught in the chains of others’ insecurity
Forgetting the independence of human will

Gradually encroaching upon the human psyche
Conquerable through one thing alone
Blind faith.

  1. A fantastic poem which resonated with me so much. Thanks for sharing. I have a poetry blog here on WordPress and today’s poem is about embracing eccentricity in case you have time to read? Swiss greetings, Sam πŸ™‚
